Team GB's newest mum - Naomi Folkard and her 11 week old daughter

Published on: 28th April, 2021

It's been a remarkable year for Naomi Folkard, the Team GB Archer. Naomi gave birth to her first daughter 11 weeks ago.

Naomi talks about the juggling act of being a new mum and preparing for a staggering 5th Olympic Games.

The Archer says it's been a daunting time but she's managed to stay calm and it's given her a great distraction from her sport.

Naomi has competed internationally since the age of 12 but after "retiring" twice since the Rio Games in 2016 she's excited about the British Archery team's prospects in Tokyo.

About the Podcast

Destination Tokyo

I’ve covered 5 Olympic and 5 Paralympic Games at home and abroad. Tokyo 2020 was to have been numbers 6. So how are the athletes preparing during Covid times. And what are they learning in the run up to the Games. The Podcast lasts around 10 mins and comes out daily, Monday to Friday. I’m also using it to raise money for Maggie’s Cancer Centres to thank them for the help they’ve given my wife and family during her bowel cancer journey.
