100 days to go(spending 6 days locked down in a hotel room) - Adam Dixon, GB Hockey

Published on: 12th April, 2021

GB Hockey Captain Adam Dixon talks from Malaysia where he's in a very strict lockdown. His hotel room door opens three times a day - for the delivery of breakfast, lunch and dinner. But it's the key to 2 weeks training in heat and humidity and a rare chance to play international competition.

Adam talks about 100 days to go to the Tokyo Olympics and what the milestone means to him. Adam is also one of Team GB's newest dads, and he talks about his first big tour away from his baby son and wife.

About the Podcast

Destination Tokyo
Olympic and Paralympic stories in the run up to the Tokyo Games.
I’ve covered 5 Olympic and 5 Paralympic Games at home and abroad. Tokyo 2020 was to have been numbers 6. So how are the athletes preparing during Covid times. And what are they learning in the run up to the Games. The Podcast lasts around 10 mins and comes out daily, Monday to Friday. I’m also using it to raise money for Maggie’s Cancer Centres to thank them for the help they’ve given my wife and family during her bowel cancer journey.
