Episode 4
Shooting from the en-suite bathroom
So there are 7 guests packed into just over ten minutes of this daily podcast! I love it when the Olympic and Paralympic teams are announced and the athletes can mark the moment.
These are the first announcements of 2021 and of course they come at a time of great uncertainty.
There's some great chat here about how the shooters have adapted and coped during lockdown. I especially love the story of Ryan Cockbill's garden not being long enough - so he has to sit in his en-suite bathroom to fire his shots on the electric target.
So many of this squad, Olympians and Paralympians, have had serious accidents and we talk about this and the resilience it's given them.
So thanks to the 7 who spoke to me today

and to Team GB and Paralympics GB for making this happen.
I'm Mark Shardlow, a broadcast journalist who's worked at a number of Olympics, Paralympics, European and Commonwealth Games.
I'm using this podcast to raise money for Maggie's Cancer Centres - a charity that's been so good to my family during 2020. If you've enjoyed listening I'd really appreciate a small donation...the price of a cup of coffee would be great.
