A whole lifetime build-up to one moment in time - why Australian Rob Woodhouse loves the Games

Published on: 1st March, 2021

Rob Woodhouse is steeped in the Olympics and Paralympics. he won a medal for Australia in the IM in the pool in Los Angeles in 1984. Since then, he's become an accomplished pundit for ABC Radio and RB as a regular at the Games. He's also represented some of Britain's great Olympians and Paralympians as their agent. Becky Adlington, Chris Hoy, Adam Peaty and Richard Whitehouse. And his niece and nephew are both Olympians too!

Rob spoke to me from Melbourne, Australia, to tell me about life with Covid on the other side of the world and its affect on elite sport. And life has gone on pretty much as normal!

Rob talks about his favourite Olympic moments and why he loves the Games. I really enjoyed our chat.

I'm raising money for Maggie's Cancer Centres - who do great work to anyone affected by cancer in the UK. If you enjoyed the podcast I'd love it if you'd donate the cost of a cup of coffee...

About the Podcast

Destination Tokyo
Olympic and Paralympic stories in the run up to the Tokyo Games.
I’ve covered 5 Olympic and 5 Paralympic Games at home and abroad. Tokyo 2020 was to have been numbers 6. So how are the athletes preparing during Covid times. And what are they learning in the run up to the Games. The Podcast lasts around 10 mins and comes out daily, Monday to Friday. I’m also using it to raise money for Maggie’s Cancer Centres to thank them for the help they’ve given my wife and family during her bowel cancer journey.
